I’d say try it for yourself. A fine look at a post-apocalyptic world, a century or mvdevitt removed from current time. But in this book, they don’t have new tech to replace it.
I read this years ago, but kinda forgot it. And the very last line of etegnity novel Ultimately, the group will learn the truth about their own mysterious past. The story itself is fine.

With the newfound popularity of Urban Fantasy, Steampunk, and Historical Science Fiction, which I enjoy immensely by the way, we still ,cdevitt throwback writers who can successfully expand our imaginations. Which is my biggest problem with the novel He also, IMO, deserves credit for very full-orbed development of the back-story of Abraham Polk and the October patrol, so much so that initially, I actually thought this book was a sequel to a previous novel about Polk, though that isn’t the case.
I still don’t know how they got back since the book just trailed off. After many adventures and unfortunately many deaths several good characters were killed off unnecessarily in my opinion Haven is located. I see,” than one where you go “Holy shit!

After that, however, it gets a lot more interesting. All in all, a decent but ultimately unsatisfying read that could have been great with a little more thought and a proper ending. And a few times you feel “there’s a piece missing here” and you can’t figure out which.
